Female owned accounting firm celebrates 16th anniversary in 2023

This year accounting firm Imani Business Advisory Services celebrates 16 years of excellence as a leading, female-owned firm. Founded by Nonyaniso ‘Nyani’ Swana in 2007, the firm’s work has separated them from their peers, placing them as one of the established women-led business advisory firms. 

As a Level 1 B-BBEE Contributor, Imani Business Advisory Services has accumulated a plethora of expertise in accounting, finance, and training from a variety of clients in both the public and private sectors. Imani offers management consulting, accounting, VAT recovery and review, debt collection, training and development services, among other things. 

The director Swana holds an MBA from Wits University, a BCompt from Walter Sisulu University, articles from PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PWC), and a postgraduate diploma in taxation from UNISA.

Swana is a registered facilitator with LGSETA and FASSET, a member of SAIT and SAIPA furthermore she is also a member of the council of debt collectors. She has been practising as an accountant for more than 26 years and finished her articles in 1997.  

“I have been in the accounting sector for more than 26 years now and have contributed significantly in the empowerment of young South African women. Imani also prides itself on creating opportunities and giving back to communities.” says Swana.  

Swana and her team through their dedication to economic development are the epitome of black excellence. Imani Business AdvisoryServiceshas shown what taking up space means and are changing the face of the financial sector.
